Beware of the Toons (Part I)

Woe unto them that call evil good and good evil: that put forth darkness for light, and light for darkness: and put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! -- Isaiah 5:20-21

I have talked about the origins of fairies and all like creatures commonly mentioned in kids bedtime stories in my post “fairy tales“. Today I want to go further and talk about cartoons, animated movies (especially those of the guru Disney) and how they can affect our children.

How many times did we send our kids watch a so called family friendly movie when we were too busy and needed some space/time for ourselves? Countless times! And how many times did we ask the Lord if a show was okay for our kids to watch? Probably never, because we trusted our judgment and senses, and believed the billion dollar companies that are producing these shows have the well being of all children at heart. We are wrong!

While I was preparing this post I happen to watch several videos of concerned parents (not all Christians) about some subliminal messages hidden in Disney movies, most of them were sexually or spiritually oriented. In some sequences were appearing -I couldn’t believe my eyes- sexually aroused characters (e.i.: Aladdin, Little Mermaid). At first I thought this could be made up, some kind of video montage to discredit a renown company. Then, I watched a scene of the famous “Toy Story”, and there was a shadow -that had definitely nothing to do there- portraying a scene of oral sex. That time I thought my eyes could make me see things that do not actually exist. Finally, I watched a scene of Scrooge McDuck and in the background appeared something that seemed to be a board similar to what you would find in an eye Doctor’s office; On it was written nothing else but:”Ask about Illuminati”. At this point I thought there is definitely something wrong. So what are really Disney’s classics about? I have checked out some of them and this is what I have found.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: first of a long list, this Disney’s classic was released in 1937. It portrayed an evil queen (a convinced witch using a magic mirror and casting spells), who hates her step-daughter, the beautiful Snow White, who finds refuge in the house of seven dwarfs (forest spirits). Here, body shifting, witchcraft, evil spirits (that according to Disney are not always bad) are all part of the plot; and the moral at the end: the good always prevails, to make you dismiss the fact that magic is evil.

Fantasia: released in 1940, shows Mickey as a sorcerer’s apprentice. You will see a sorcerer working his magic, a skull from which rises a bat-like spirit, Mickey using spells, and the whole thing magnified by the creepiest music ever. This movie is a pure glorification of black magic and witchcraft.

Cinderella: released in 1950, features a wicked step-mother, her jealous -yet not so pretty- daughters, her cat ‘Lucifer’, a fairy godmother, and a poor orphan, mistreated and overwhelmed with chores. Hopefully the godmother can use her magic to help Cinderella meet the prince charming. The idea is still the same: magic is not as bad as you think, especially if it can save an orphan and torment a shrewish stepmother.

Sleeping Beauty: first released in 1959, it perpetuates the concept of good versus bad witchcraft. Here the good fairies (not God) blessed the baby princess with talent and beauty, while Maleficent, the wicked one, cursed her with death. Only true love from the prince charming (not from Jesus) shall break the spell and save the princess. Note, that Maleficent transforms herself into a dragon (an image of Satan in Revelation 12:9) and is defeated by the prince (not by the Lord as in Isaiah 27:1).

Little Mermaid was released in 1989. This happy ending version present Ariel the Mermaid who fell in love with prince Eric a human. Beside the fact that mermaids – also called “Mami Wata” in some cultures or “sirene des eaux” in others- like fairies are evil spirit. Mermaids are also link to seduction, promiscuity, and deviant sexuality.

Night on Bald Mountain: this title actually derives from a musical composition of the Russian Modest Mussorgsky. It was written on St john’s eve or Kupala night, which is a commemoration of a pagan fertility rite, and its original title is “St John’s eve on Bald Mountain”. Of all Disney’s evil productions this is by far the most wicked. It simply shows the Prince of darkness covering the earth with his power, and inviting his demons and agents (sorcerers, witches, magicians) to celebrate a mystical mass on Kupala night.

Aladdin (1992): Disney reheats his now most popular concept: magic, with an oriental touch. The spirit of lamp, a good genie grants his owner his wishes.

The Lion King (1994): it was my favorite until I realized that the Mandrill was a sorcerer, and the main theme was reincarnation. Some people have even pointed out the ambiguous relationship between Timon and Pumba the adoptive parents of Simba, the lion king.

I wasn’t much surprised to see all those abominations in Disney’s animations once I discovered that Mickey Mouse’s father was himself a 33 degree Freemason.

These animated movies are definitely not what any Christian parent should expose his children to. I exhort you mothers, in the name of our gracious Lord, save your children from this perverse world.
